Man pleads guilty to having sex with 15-year-old

An Onchan man has pleaded guilty to having unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of 16.

23-year-old Daniel McGuinness appeared before the Magistrates Court yesterday charged with three offences.

The court heard how he had sex with the 15-year-old three times at his home address on May 11th - but denied knowing how old she was beforehand.

After being spoken to days later by police about another matter the girl revealed what had happened and McGuinness was arrested.

Social enquiry reports have been requested before sentencing - the case has been adjourned until January 8th.
