Awkward weather creates problems at the Monthly Handicap match
Unpredictable and bitterly cold gusts of wind caused problems for the eleven shooters who managed to attend the Isle of Man Shooting Club’s Monthly Handicap on Sunday morning. With such a small entry, full use of the clubs electronic targets confirmed final results quickly allowing those involved to “defrost” in the warmth of the club house. Top gun score went to Michael Duncalf who posted a respectable 573 x 600, 2 points ahead of Tracey Skelton on 571. After handicap additions were applied, the win went to Nick Brown with 564 x 600 + 29 handicap = 593.
Full results were:-
1 – Nick Brown 92, 94, 94, 95, 96, 93 = 564 + 29 = 593
2 – Tracey Skelton 96, 96, 98, 91, 94, 96 = 571 + 19 = 590
3 – Alex Trafford (J) 92, 96, 88, 92, 92, 88 = 548 + 39 = 587
4 – Mike Duncalf 94, 96, 98, 94, 96, 95 = 573 + 13 = 586
5 – Tom Lord 94, 91, 95, 91, 95, 95 = 561 + 24 = 585
6 – Suzanne McKnight 91, 95, 95, 93, 91, 93 = 558 + 26 = 584
7 – Illiam Christian (J) 96, 96, 93, 90, 88, 90 = 553 + 29 = 582
8 – Steve Callus 93, 90, 91, 89, 95, 91 = 549 + 32 = 581
9 – Bill Jones 90, 89, 96, 93, 94, 92 = 554 + 23 = 577
10 – Thomas Clague (J) 86, 88, 91, 93, 86, 94 = 538 + 35 = 573
11 – Perryn Callister 87, 92, 90, 90, 89, 91 = 539 + 31 = 570

Dates for your Diaries
League matches now have a break until Monday January 5th when the programme will be IoMSC Douglas hosting Sulby, Castletown travelling to Laxey and Port St Mary welcome Kirk Michael.
Shooting will not cease completely over the Christmas period, as there will be a disc shoot at Sinclair Range this evening, December 16th with the prize being the fabulous silver bullet made and supplied by Lorrie Thompson. This is a great fun competition with a valuable prize so let’s hope it is well supported.
Sunday January 4th will be the first 50 metre Handicap match of 2015 – where an improvement in the weather from the December Handicap, would be welcomed. Michael Clague has asked me to remind all entrants in the IoMRA competitions, if they could ensure to return shot cards by the dates on their envelopes.
