North Douglas MHK John Houghton has today claimed he had no knowledge that pension contributions weren't being deducted from his monthly salary.
Today he's been revealed as the only MHK not to be paying - however he claims a phone call from Treasury yesterday morning informing him of this was the first he knew about it.
He says when the initial debate on monthly contributions took place in April 2012 he signed up - claiming they were reduced from his salary for the next two months.
This, he claims, left him 'emphatically confident' that he was now fully compliant and therefore says he didn't feel the need to keep checking.
He's now seeking confirmation from Treasury that this was the case and no such non-payment reminders were ever issued to him.
The North Douglas MHK has vowed to rectify the matter.
