MHK wants to see more women in politics

Tynwald should be made more "female friendly".

That's according to Douglas West MHK Chris Thomas who says that in the past only 10 per cent of candidates put forward for general elections have been women.

A masculine atmosphere in the court, better opportunities elsewhere and late working hours have been suggested as potential reasons for this.

Mr Thomas says he'd like to find out how parliament can be made more inclusive:
