Discussions are continuing after it was revealed that a number of retained firefighters may face redundancy.
It's due to cuts within the Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service - the impact of which is making it difficult to maintain current staffing numbers.
The chief fire officer, Unite the Union and the Fire Brigades Union say they are working to explore every single avenue to avoid redundancies.
However they say the very real potential cuts have made this work stream very difficult.
