Nick Hurt named as Manager of the IOMFA Senior Men's Representative Side

Mon, 08 Dec 2014

Following a recent interview and selection process, the Isle of Man Football Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Nick Hurt as Manager of the IOMFA Senior Men's Representative Side. The Interview Panel was impressed by Nick's passion, enthusiasm and his vision and innovative ideas for the future development of IOMFA Representative football. In addition, his commitment to the aims and goals of the Association in this important area came through clearly.

Nick's management career to date has involved winning promotion to the Premier League in 2001 with St John's United FC and in 2007 with Michael United FC. In a second spell at St John's in 2010, he once again achieved promotion to the top division and added to his credentials with a Railway cup semi-final appearance as player manager. The Club has since become well established in the Premier League.

Whilst it was noted that Nick has an outstanding disciplinary issue from March 2013, which is soon to be addressed, the panel was impressed by his attitude and his exemplary disciplinary record since that date.

On the playing side, Nick earned 79 caps for the Senior Men with some highly impressive performances and was a key member of the Island team who beat Scotland in the final of the 2001 Guinness Cup and the team who first win the FA National League System Cup in 2006. This experience together with Nick's winning attitude and pride in playing for the IOMFA Representative side will stand him in good stead in taking the team forward.
