Local authorities and public sector tenants have been ignored by government over plans to increase rents.
The Department of Health and Social Care will be upping rents by five per cent in April saying currently the cost of providing housing outstrips the rental income.
The increase represents around £4 more per week with tenants on income related benefits immune.
However Onchan commissioner Rob Callister is protesting the rise saying people will struggle:
