There is no magic wand to deal with the problem of "legal highs" on the Isle of Man.
Home Affairs Minister Juan Watterson says the first step is to stamp out the misleading name and refer to them properly as 'psychoactive substances'.
In the House of Keys this week questions were asked about what action is being taken to protect the public.
Mr Watterson says the problem is taken seriously here with work done to identify substances and ban them quickly - often following guidance from the UK.
However he admits it is a difficult job and their availability will never be removed entirely:
