Fire Station put out christmas appeal

Festive revellers putting their christmas decorations up this week are urged to use the opportunity to check their fire alarms are in full working order.

Things like open fires, fairy lights and lit candles all pose potential threats if left unattended.

When setting up the christmas tree you're advised to check all lighting cables, looking out for split wires and burnt out bulbs.
