Three people received lengthy jail terms yesterday for their part in multiple incidents of theft.
64 year old Ian Darroch was jailed for nine years for eight offences of theft, totalling just less than $1.5 million, false accounting, forgery and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
His brother Andrew Darroch was jailed for two and a half years for offences of false accounting, forgery and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
Christine Dirom was sent to prison for a total of two years for six offences of theft.
A spokesperson for the Financial Crime Unit says the offences were a serious breach of trust by Mr Darroch and Christine Dirom, who stolen considerable funds from a client bank account.
The six week trial saw the culmination of years of work to bring the complex investigation before the courts.
