However the closest matches were at fourth mixed between St Ninians Calvin Smith and reserve Sophie Wade versus Neil McMullen and Carol Kelly. The experience of the Selborne pair showed when they eventually won 16-21 21-11 21-11. Best match of the night was at second mixed where the battle between Jonny Tickner and Allison Harrison for St Ninians and Ben Watterson and Susie Stewart was an exciting one to watch. Kella Farms Sulby 16 Caley Stores Sulby 4

The hotly awaited clash of Sulby teams proved to be a great night. Kella Farms had to call up reserves and the Caley Stores played a few new faces. The score did not represent the closeness of some of the matches but ultimately Kella Farms won the evening. Second men's and second womens went the way of the home team with young James Strickett and Bob Mylchreest beating Chris Shillam and John Piekalns, and Joan Hughes and Anne Couper-Woods beating Katie Strickett and Jo Piekalns respectively. First men's

was a hard fought match with Kella Farms’ Stuart Clarke and Ben Bryan just edging out Norman Brew and Patrick Couper-Woods in three. First womens also went the way of the home team. James Strickett and Hughes then teamed up and won in three against James's sister Katie and Shillam. Father and daughter pairing John and Jo Piekalns of Caley Stores then narrowly lost to Mylchreest and Anne Couper-Woods. Clarke and Judy Kelly then played a gruelling match against Patrick Couper-Woods and Heather Kenneth, the match going to three, with Clarke and Kelly edging it. Kella Farms Bryan and Ely Livesey then edged out a thriller against Brew and Katherine Clarke, the match going to three again. A great evening with some great food supplied by the ladies was enjoyed by all, the return match awaits!!!!. SC
