Designer Glass Castletown/Abbey B 158 CuPlas Callow St Ninians B 252

Playing their first match under their new sponsor Designer Glass, newly promoted Castletown /Abbey came across a very strong and experienced St Ninians team. The first match Stu Lyon and Graham Coffey pushed St Ninians Jonny Tickner and Simon Fletcher close in both games with the St Ninians pair edging it 21/18  21/17.  This set the tone for the match with Chris Birch and Michael Harrison beating Castletown/Abbey’s Peter Hadfield and Nick Thornley 21/11 21/12.  St Ninians just had the edge in each game but Castletown/Abbey acquitted themselves well in this league having won league 4 last season. Citywing Vikings C 251 Doehle Corporate Selborne B 141

Newly promoted Vikings C have certainly started the season very strongly having already won two matches and they showed no sign of stopping their winning streak in this match.  Vikings Melissa McKnight and Sam Spellman beat Julie McLean and Anita Griffiths 21/8 21/14 which was followed up by a win 21/11 21/9 for Csilla Buck and Georgia Foxton over Selborne’s Susie Stewart and Carol Kelly.  The rest of the matches all went the way of Vikings up until the last match.  Vikings Buck and McKnight took the first game 21/18 against Stewart and McLean before the Selborne pair took the next game 21/20 to leave the match a 251/141 win for Vikings who already are looking like strong favourites to take this league.
