An MHK is calling for a working group to be set up to look at the Island's heritage railways.
If agreed it means government would liaise with external interested parties and find cost-effective solutions to running the railways privately.
Douglas West politician Chris Thomas says its need is evidenced by the Infrastructure Minister's admission that they are too heavily subsidised.
He says it's time to work with the people who understand the central issues:
