Free parking will be in operation in Douglas in the run up to Christmas as part of efforts to appease retailers.
Concerns have been raised after the Department of Infrastructure announced it was putting up car park charges and reducing free disc-zone parking.
Over the festive period there will be free parking at Chester Street and on the Promenade Walkway in peak shopping times including Saturdays and Thursday evenings.
