The family of a woman who was killed by a dangerous driver whilst on holiday here in April is calling for answers.

Gwen Valentine, who was 62 and from Hampshire, died after being hit on the Tholt-y-Will by a car driven by 30-year-old Donovan Kitching.

Prior to the collision he had been arrested by police on the Mountain Road after failing a roadside breath test - however he escaped and made off at high speed. 

Yesterday Kitching, who was described as having an "unenviable list of previous convictions", was jailed for 10 years - he'd only been released from prison on licence three weeks before the crash. 

In court the prosecutor wept as she read out impact statements from Gwen's family - saying they should have been giving her away at her upcoming wedding and not scattering her ashes.

Her son Stuart says this isn't the end for the family and lessons need to be learnt:
