Thieves are targeting homes on the Island which have been left unlocked - with 17 burglaries reported in the last three months.
Police say since July a number of electrical items have been stolen including iPods, laptops and iPhones.
Money which has been left lying around, or in money boxes, has also been taken.
Offenders are mainly targeting houses in Douglas although there have been two reports from the south of the Island.
People have been urged to report any suspicious activity and to contact police if they think their home has been targeted.
