Development vision for old prison site published

Redevelopment of the old Victoria Road prison site must serve the needs of the local community.

Government has published a development brief to offer guidance to potential developers.

The two-acre site has been vacant since the prison was demolished last year.

Now the Department of Infrastructure says it will support developments including affordable housing, sheltered housing or day care facilities or even a church.
