Last week’s Indoor League matches revealed several excellent results from individuals who must be delighted with their scores.
The closest result of all was in the Castletown v Port St Mary match where the 10 man home team of the ‘town were victorious in Division 1 over the 14 man visitors who took the remaining two Divisions. Top score of the evening went to John “doc” Brewis with a terrific 99 for Castletown closely followed with a 98 from Chris Birtwhistle. Derek Kermode came out on top for the “Port” with Gary Knight, Ashley Gardner and junior shooter, George Dalton-Brown all on 97.

At Sinclair Range, St Johns, IoMSC Sandsiders were at home to IoMSC Douglas and the win in this match went to IoMSC Douglas in all three Divisions, with the highest score in Division 1 of all matches shot on the night. A delighted Mike Thompson topped the visitor’s team with a terrific 100, the first of the indoor season and only the second of his shooting career. Thompson was 2 points ahead of second placed Mike Clague on 98. For the hosts, Richard Arthur managed a very creditable 98 from Bill Jones on 97. In only his second competitive match, congratulations must go to 15 year old Matthew Roosen who managed to find himself in the Division 1 team for IoMSC Sandsiders.

According to recent practice scores from members of Kirk Michael, what could possibly have been a close match between Kirk Michael and Laxey at Kirk Michael, turned out to be anything but, when the visitor’s score of 488 was more than enough to show their 2013/14 championship form claiming a win in Division 1 but the home team was successful in Division 2. Top shots for Michael went to Kevin Quinn, junior shooter Illiam Christian and Les Crowe (welcome back into the fold Les!) who all posted 97’s. Harry Creevy, for the second week running, shot a 99 for Laxey with John Wood and Suzanne Curphy both hitting 98’s.
