A 'mean-spirited offence' involving a stolen cheque book has landed a Ramsey man a suspended jail sentence and a £675 fine.
26-year-old Damien Nuttall was sentenced at Douglas Courthouse earlier this week for seven offences committed between April and June this year.
He pleaded guilty to stealing a chequebook from a communal area in his building, forging a cheque for £400 and cashing it in his own bank account.
He also pleaded guilty to five driving charges after being stopped in Kirk Michael in June by police who found he had no driving licence or insurance.
