The Manx Utilities Authority has pleaded guilty to failing to discharge duty after a worker was killed when a wall collapsed.
Chief executive Philip King appeared at Douglas Courthouse to enter the plea on behalf of the authority yesterday.
The charge relates to the death of 52-year-old John Gell who died on December 3rd 2012 whilst carrying out excavation work to replace a water pipe in Peel.
A second charge of failing to comply with regulations was withdrawn.
The case has now been adjourned until November 26th so that sentencing options can be considered.
