Citywing is stopping all flights to Blackpool for at least a month after the news the airport is being closed.
Blackpool Airport's owners, who have been unable to find a buyer, say they will continue to work with the independent aviation businesses that operate there.
Citywing says it will take an active part in discussions between the airport, local businesses and the council to try and restore the air link.
However plans to operate into a nearby airport temporarily have proved unworkable meaning all flights will now be suspended.
Affected passengers will be contacted and offered a full refund or alternative travel arrangements.
