Social housing tenants in Onchan are being asked to downsize.
It comes after the commissioners started inspecting its 500 properties - the first formal programme of inspections in 12 years.
It's in an effort to ensure all dwellings are maintained to a high standard so they can be re-let easily.
The authority has a very low turnover of properties with some tenants occupying the same one for 30 years - deputy clerk Tim Craig says times are changing:
