Police powers are being put under the spotlight.
The Department of Home Affairs wants to modernise the police codes of practice in an effort to ensure they are efficient.
Among the things being looked at are the arrest process, stop and search, the searching of premises and seizure of property as well as detention and treatment.
The consultation also looks at police powers in respect of alcohol found in the possession of minors and drinking in public places on the Island.
Members of the public are being invited to have their say before new legislation is submitted to Tynwald - the cut-off date is November 3rd.
