Over 500 animal lovers are calling to ban the Douglas Horse Trams.
The aim of the online petition is to lobby Douglas Council to protect the horses by stopping the practice.
Commissioned in 1876, the service is the oldest of its kind in the world - with 23 tramcars pulled by 45 horses.
Major redevelopment work on the promenade means the service won't be in operation next year - petition organisers want to see it halted permanently instead of reinstating it in 2016.
