Competition for fixed lines to break monopoly

Giving the public a choice over their fixed-line telephone services will break the monopoly on the market.

In a move that will encourage competition customers will now be able to choose which operators they use to make calls.

By the end of this year people will also have a choice of who provides their fixed line.
