Police say any public order incident on land or at sea will be dealt with in a "robust fashion".
It follows an incident on-board the Manannan on Saturday during the evening sailing from Liverpool to Douglas.
There was an altercation between two men in the toilet and then a further assault in the café and bar area a short time later.
It comes at a time when there has been considerable attention put on passenger behaviour on Steam Packet vessels.
Police say they will stamp out these sorts of incidents in order to allow law abiding members of the public to travel to and from the Island peacefully.
