More than 1500 people have shown their support for a new Facebook campaign to protect a historic railway station in Douglas.
It's in response to the Department of Infrastructure's plans to carry out refurbishment work and alterations in a bid to bring the building up to modern standards.
The people behind the group - called 'Stop the Destruction of Douglas Railway Station'- say they will not block change for the sake of it but any change must reflect its historic nature
Plans include moving the restaurant, the creation of a retail area and a canopied area for outside dining.
Yesterday Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne said he was looking in depth at the scheme and appeared to dismiss any suggestion that demolition could be on the cards.
