Island performs well during summer season

It's hoped the Isle of Man has performed well in attracting new visitors here this summer.

The emergence of new niche markets and an unprecedented level of UK media coverage should see visitor figures soar.

Things like mountain biking and hiking are attracting tourists as well as the steam and electric railways.

Dark Skies tourism is also expected to encourage more people to visit over the winter.
