Tue, 02 Sep 2014

The inquest into the death of an IMGold Manx Grand Prix competitor from Kent has been opened.

51-year-old Timothy Moorehead was killed during a collision near to the 29th Milestone on the Mountain Road in a qualifying session on August 22nd.

The post-mortem examination showed the university lecturer, who was from Whitstable, died from multiple injuries consistent with a high speed racing accident.

Coroner of Inquests Jayne Hughes offered her condolences to his family and released his body so that funeral arrangements can take place.

Investigations into his death are continuing - the inquest has been adjourned to a date to be set.
