The Manannan is now getting ready to set sail from Liverpool.
The Steam Packet company announced the boat is to sail at 12pm today following an engine electrical control system issue - unconnected to recent problems affecting Manannan's sailings - preventing one of the engines from starting.
Specialist engineers were drafted in to fix it last night, and have been working all morning to ensure it sails safely back to the Island as soon as could be made possible.
They're satisfied the issue has been fixed; but as a result of the failure, Belfast sailings for today have been cancelled and will be amalgamated with tomorrow's Dublin crossing.
Steam Packet Company chief executive Mark Woodward has apologised to everyone affected.
