The results have now been collated and despite initial concerns the GCSE pass rate was only .1% off last years 99.3% record.
In total 69% of the GCSE entires were passed at higher grades from A* to C, also in line with last year's record.
The number of students passing with A or A* grades fell slightly from 19.3% to 17.7%.
The results are not comparable with those released in the UK today, as their figures include all exam entries, including those from Isle of Man students, as well as pupils from UK selective schools and further education colleges.
The Department of Education and Children believe the schools have coped well with the transition back to linear assessment which saw more emphasis placed on final exams.
