Emergency repair works are forcing the early closure of the Grove Museum in Ramsey.
Manx National Heritage will shut the building early next month because conservation work needs to be carried out on the roof.
The 170 year old fabric is beginning to fail letting water in -to coincide with the closure a new exhibition by Peter Davies will be running from August 24th.
Dark Thoughts is inspired by the art of Victorian storytelling and will see pieces exhibited amongst the existing collections, rooms and outbuilding.
