Scammers targeting people with surname 'Brown'

Police are warning of yet another telephone scam which is catching out Island residents.

This time they say it originates from someone pretending to be from Isle of Man Bank.

The caller asks the person to call them back but they are holding their end of the line open so that customers think they have called a genuine number.

Police say residents with the surname 'Brown' appear to be the current targets - but are asking everyone to exercise caution.
