Thieves who have stolen four Manx memorial flags couldn't have picked a worse time to show such a 'lack of respect'.
That's according to police who are investigating after the items were taken from Kallow's Point in Port St Mary over the weekend.
The four flags had been flying above the TSS Mona's Queen anchor memorial which commemorates the men and women of the Merchant Navy who died during Operation Dynamo.
Officers say the timing in connection to the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War - which was marked yesterday - 'couldn't be worse'.
Anyone who has any information is asked to contact Port Erin Police Station on 832222.
