Islanders' say government 'rent allowance' could work

Manx residents think government should provide a 'rent allowance' as it could help first-timers save to buy a house.

It follows the suggestion by Onchan MHK Peter Karran that more should be done to support those who are struggling to rent whilst on the minimum wage.

He says government could help those who have to rent privately and argues it would help get people out of the benefits system.
