Rent allowance for those working on the minimum wage should be done on a 'case-by-case basis' if government considers introducing a new scheme.
That's the opinion of a property consultant following Onchan MHK Peter Karran's suggestion that young people should be helped if they are finding it difficult to afford renting a property.
He's suggested that those on minimum wage - earning around £250 a week, can't afford to rent here unless they stay in the benefits system.
Nick Cooper says each circumstance is different, so it may not be feasible, but he agrees some solution needs to be found:
