The Island has to start living in the real world when it comes to housing costs.
That's according to an Onchan MHK who wants more help for young people who are working on the minimum wage.
Peter Karran says if someone is earning around £250 for a 40 hours week it is impossible to afford housing of any sort.
He's written to the Health and Social Care Minister to ask about the possibility of introducing an allowance.
He says the growing problem needs to be addressed:
