Police officers lost just over 1,400 working days to sickness last year.
That's a drop of 16 per cent, compared to figures from 2012-2013 when officers took almost 1,700.
The Department of Home Affairs says it hopes the latest figures will counter the misconceptions that workers are frequently off sick.
Long-term sickness accounts for 59 per cent of the overall figure - Minister Juan Watterson says there is a risk this could rise as more pressure is put on the constabulary:
