Repairs to the Manannan will occur earlier than originally planned.
It's to minimise ongoing inconvenience to passengers since it suffered a mechanical issue with one of its four engines - adding 20-mins to travel times.
It was planned to take the ship out of service for up to three days in mid-September to allow a full repair to be undertaken.
By committing additional resources, the time has been reduced, and the repairs have been brought forward to 6 August - losing only one Liverpool service.
It's expected to be back in service for the busy Festival of Motorcycling period.
