An MHK will look to move a motion through Tynwald next week that will see a commitment made to the future of policing standards.
Douglas North MHK John Houghton is looking for firm assurances from Treasury that police budgets will not be cut any further.
He is asking that Tynwald applauds the excellent work and standards of policing on Island by ensuring that fund allocation does not fall below the current £13.5 million level.
He has also asked Treasury to support sufficient funding that can see the minimum establishment of 210 full time operational police officers.
Recent budget cut backs have seen the constabulary forced to shed six per cent of its workforce.
