No decisions have yet been made on how to replace Mark Cavendish at the Commonwealth Games later this month.
The 29-year-old, who was due to represent the Island in the road race event, has had to pull out after injuring his shoulder in the Tour de France.
His withdrawal has been described by Team Isle of Man as a 'big disappointment' as he was seen as one of the strongest medal hopes.
General manager Trevor Taubman says it will be possible to make some rearrangements with the possibility of bringing another rider in.
