Doctor warns against antibiotic over use

We need to stop taking antibiotics unnecessarily.

That's the message from the Island's head of infection prevention and control as it's a waste of health, time, and money.

Dr Rizwan Kahn says that though it's a hot topic for the UK media, it's a real issue that needs tackling at a local level - and the Isle of Man is no exception.

Also a consultant microbiologist at Noble's Hospital, he explained resistance to the drugs will become a problem if new alternatives aren't found.
