All workers on the Island may soon be able to make a request to their employer for flexible working.
The Isle of Man already allows workers to ask the question so that they can care for a dependant.
Government is currently considering the UK's changes which extend the right to make a request to all workers - meaning each employee will have the right to be considered.
Changes would affect those with more than six-months of service - to be granted as a moral booster and protecting the rights of both younger and older workers.
Before legislating for it the Department of Economic Development says it needs to further research the topic and put it out to public consultation.
