Medical records will be stored in the UK from October instead of on the Island.
It's because of an upgrade to the IT system within GP surgeries - a new system called EMIS Web is being introduced.
The Department of Health and Social Care says it will improve efficiency within practices ensuring doctors have the right patient, with the right record, in the right place.
It means doctors will be able to share appropriate clinical data with other clinicians, MEDS, outpatient clinics and A and E.
