Government is doubling the money it spends on pre-school credit for families from £500,000 to £1 million.
The Minister for Policy and Reform says bringing in means-testing for child benefit has increased funds to pay for the additional pre-school support.
Parents of children who reach four between 1st September 2014 and 31st August 2015 will be eligible for £800 towards pre-school.
Those in receipt of Employed Person's Allowance, Income Support or Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance are entitled to £1,500.
