Emergency services will continue to deliver the Drive Safe Live Long initiative - but without as much help from the Fire Service.
It's due to budget cuts within the Department of Home Affairs which mean firefighters have to scale back their commitments.
Minister Juan Watterson says he does recognise the importance of the campaign which has saved lives - however in light of cut backs the service needs to focus its resources on delivering its statutory obligations.
It's a decision that's angered North Douglas MHK John Houghton who says young drivers and their passengers are starting to take heed of the advice.
