The Chief Minister says he will get to the bottom of why no legal advice was sought before completing the Sefton bailout deal.
The Economic Development Minister John Shimmin has resigned after he was deemed to have acted outside of his brief in awarding the Sefton Group two loans to secure its future.
Allan Bell has paid tribute to Mr Shimmin for his determination 'to do the right thing in the Island's national interest'.
He says he understands a mix-up may have taken place with some of the people involved in structuring the deal:
