Work has started on the first stage of creating a new breast cancer treatment unit at Noble's Hospital.
The 'sod was cut' last night marking the start of 10 weeks of groundwork.
The unit is being funded exclusively by fundraising initiatives with £1.5 million needed to complete the works.
Once finished it will act as a standalone facility for breast cancer patients, with improved diagnostic and treatment facilities.
