Ramsey lifeboat was called into action on Monday night to rescue a broken down fishing vessel and return it to Kirkcudbright.
The rescue craft was launched at 7.20pm, at the request of Liverpool Coastguard, to go to the aid of the boat which was on passage from Peel to Kippford.
It had broken down and was drifting around eight miles North West of the Point of Ayre - both crew were unhurt.
Initially Kirkcudbright's inshore lifeboat - which had also launched - took the boat in tow however due to the long distance back, and the tidal conditions, it would have compromised its fuel consumption.
Ramsey Lifeboat therefore towed the boat back to Little Ross Island before handing over and beginning a two hour passage back to the Island.
