Man charged with jewellery theft back in court

A man accused of stealing £25,000 of goods from a Douglas jewelers will appear in court today.

38-year-old Michael Berquist is expected to appear via live link from Jurby Prison for his committal hearing.

He's charged with carrying out an armed robbery on RHS Jewelers on Prospect Hill on May 9th.

He's already pleaded guilty to a number of charges including stealing the motorbike involved in the incident, having no insurance and failing to comply with his provisional driving license.

He will appear before the Deputy High Bailiff this morning.
